Revenge of the Orcs was released August 11th, 2022 and was developed by Dieselmine and published by Shiravune. Shiravune's link can be found at the side of the main hompage of this blog. Click the link and it will take you to their storefront where you can buy this game or one of many other games that Shiravune has produced. And no they did not pay me for that bit of advertising...though if they would it would be nice.
Revenge of the Orcs is a unique twist to most games of this genera in the sense you do not play as a 'good' protagonist and in fact you play pretty much one of the two main villains in the game. You play as Org the Orc...look I don't come up with the names here I just write the blogs. Org is your typical orc and one day when he's out hunting for some food minding his own business his home camp is attacked and destroyed by three adventures, and upon his return and seeing them slaughter his fellow tribes people he is filled with rage and the desire to obtain revenge.
The three adventures were the Princess Knight Lina, Priestess Artie, and the Half-Oni Warrioress Belka. At this time in their world the human and allied races were against the orcs and wars and battles waged as both sides attacked one another. Princess Lina took it upon her self to destroy 'raiding' tribe camps which led her and her companions to Org's camp.
After the battle Org tried to decide what he needed to do, and to his surprise he gained an unlikely ally. A human named Dominq appeared and offered Org the chance of a lifetime. Dominq was a merchant and one that was well versed in the slave trade. He made a deal with Org to help him claim his revenge and in return he helps Dominq obtain wealth.
With the deal struck the two begin by hoisting the Orc flag of rebellion...but soon it would become the flag of conquest. The game has you play a numbers game of sorts. You start out with a small band of Orc Warriors and Hired Mercenaries. Using these two forces (Orcs making up your Health and Mercs making up your Strength) you attack settlements and towns. Upon winning you obtain a number of slaves which depends on the town you attack. You then go to your Orc Camp where you then train the slaves to become workers. Upon completing this step you can then sell the workers for gold.
Gold is then used to buy more Orcs and Mercenaries and this process continues until you are able to rally enough to take on the three main "bad guys" one at a time. Of course as you conquer them you unlock larger towns and cities to raid earning you more slaves and therefore more gold. You have a set amount of days to build up your armies to fight and win against each of the three adventures. Selling workers earns you respect from the Nobility and they spread some misinformation to help you buy extending the amount of days you have, this will come to your advantage.
About midway through the game a fourth woman will be added to your list of people to beat and capture, she is a Demon by the name of Dies...again...I don't make the names here.
This game has 3 main endings and one hidden ending that is based on certain choices you make through the game. There are also 'special' areas that if you raid and win you will gain Gold instead of slaves and you will gain special slaves (though I am not sure what they really do other than add some nice dialogue and CG art...which I'm fine with.)
The game is listed at 14.99$ which I think is a little on the higher end seeing as I played through the game in about an hour to two hours, but it is currently on sale for 11.99$ which is still a bit high but not as bad. The game if purchased from Steam is censored, but if you go to the Shiravune website you can get the 18+DLC for free or you can go to the website direct and buy it and get the complete game without needing a DLC.
While the game isn't long and the story is rather shallow...seeing an elf, half oni, demon, and a human girl get boned by an orc can be interesting...if your into that kind of thing.
