However just wanted to let you all know I will be posting the Siscon Saturday Sister tomorrow (yes a day late) as well as posting a blog for the week. Quick Update of Things to Come

So as many of you all have noticed I have been taking some time off from doing reviews. There is a couple of reasons for that and I'd like to take a moment to put the record straight. For the most part as you can imagine, I have a backlog of games and anime that are in need of watching, playing and reviewing. Due to increased hours at my job (you know the day job that brings in the money) I am not able to dedicate the time that had been. I have also been attempting to work on my marriage by putting more time into spending with family, this means less time doing reviews. I have been asked to participate in a new project as well that will take some of my time but I have done made it clear that GNKG is my primary concern.

I will also be undergoing some changes, I have some new equipment that has been ordered and should be delivered soon which will make me able to do more in the way of streaming. I am also currently looking for some new software as the one I bought a few months ago is out of date and to get the upgrade they are expecting me to pay even more than I already did for the software to begin with, which is freaking nuts in my opinion.

I will be updating all my current artwork, blog, and Patreon to reflect new changes. I will also be looking for someone to start working on doing some better artwork and or 3D images with Mira (the GNKG spokes girl) who will also be going through some changes.

All of this will take some time so I hope you will bare with me as these changes that are needed take place. I will be working on also finishing up some posts and starting to do the blog again real soon. I apologize for the delay and hope to start adding more content very soon.

Thanks

Christmas Eve is Here

 Christmas Eve is Here

Good morning everyone (at least it's morning at the time of this post) I hope you all are having a great Christmas Eve day! It has been a few days since I last posted any reviews, but please be aware it is because I am still playing through several games as we speak to bring you some interesting reviews and previews. All that said however I want to take a moment to say thank you to everyone that reads my blog and those who glance at it from time to time.

With Christmas Eve here and Christmas tomorrow it reminds us that the end of the year is almost here, and with 2020 being a year to remember (not for the best of reasons mind you) it is this time of the year we take a moment to appreciate our families and loved ones. Just like Thanksgiving teaches us to be thankful for that which we have, Christmas teaches us to remember those that mean the most to us.

This time of the year can be hard on those that have lost a loved one over the past year or someone that has been gone for a time. In today's society, we are quick to dismiss these things as well as to take away the meaning of Christmas. Too many using the term 'Merry Christmas' is an enduring statement that shows respect and reverence to the holiday, sadly there are those out there that don't see it that way.

Despite the differences in political, social, religious, or racial differences Christmas is a holiday to remind us that even in today's harsh world there is a beacon of hope even in humanity.

I hope everyone has a great Christmas Eve and an even better Christmas. I will be working on some things today and will be posting later.

Thanks!

Why the West (America) is a joke to the East (Japan)

Why the West (America) is a joke to the East (Japan)

Recently I was talking with a couple of friends of mine online over some different upcoming releasing Anime and Manga. Now personally I don't read Manga that much but that is just my own personal thing and I think everyone should have the right to pursue whatever medium they prefer. During our discussion though we started talking about a couple of upcoming Visual Novels that had some mature content including things such as 'Siscon' and 'Lolicon'. There was also some other mature content we discussed, but the point of the discussion turned to why the Western-based nations mostly the US has such an issue with such media content.

Recently an article posted discussing that Nintendo's CEO and current President when asked about them allowing 'Indy' publishers and developers to put games on their market place and the allowing of 'mature' content the CEO responded like you would have expected. "I will allow this content, it is up to the person to decide on what they wish to see and play, and I don't understand why the US has a problem with this concept."

That's right, even Japan has grown and surpassed the USA when it comes to the concept of personal freedom to the point that they make just about anything and let the individual decide on their own if it is something they want to view or not. Japan underwent a great deal of change after the end of World War II, with the help of the United States, Japan flourished as a powerful Democracy of the East. Even now it has one of the most powerful political Democracy's in the East followed closely by South Korea.

The idea and customs of Japan while modernizing has also maintained and grew its traditional bases. While westernization did see the end to a lot of the traditional values, the Japanese people continued to hang on to many traditions that survive even today. The people of Japan thrive under a combination of tradition and modern values and while Japan does have its own skeletons in the closet so to speak, they still have a wide variety of freedoms and values that we as Americans have seemed to forget about.

There have been continued attacks against Anime and other Japanese based media by politicians here in the United States and most of those politicians have no clue what they are really even talking about and yet they see it as a way to reach out to people who don't fully understand the media or the logic behind it. So the question is what is it that is causing this issue? Well, it is obvious that there is a huge difference in cultures and morals. This leads to a misunderstanding though America likes to think it is 'Progressive' in the sense that it leads the world in freedom that isn't the case anymore.

In most cases, the United States has actually gone backward for personal freedom over the past couple of decades. Now while we could guess as to what it is that has caused this, I am not going to go political for one side or the other. So let's just go with this, in Japan personal freedom is viewed with more regard than we do here in the United States. When Japan talks about America they do so with guarded words because Japan has and does rely on the US for many things including its defense. That said Japan also regards the US as a nation that is falling behind the times in regards to the use of personal freedom of choice.

Anime, Visual Novels, Manga, Video Games, and many more things that come from Japan all have things in them that some moralists in the US will find distasteful, but such is how things are. You can not squash the freedom to view or read content that you find distasteful to yourself. Media production and art have to remain free or we as a society and culture have failed in our mission to ensure that freedom continues.

That is why America is made fun of because we say we know what freedom is then we censor and judge things that we just don't understand, and honestly we deserve to be made fun of for this very thing.

NEKOPara Vol. 4 Release Coming Soon

 NEKO-Para Vol. 4

I am happy to announce that the 4th installment of Neko-Para is coming out on November 26th, 2020! This series developed by NEKO WORKs and published by Sekai Project has gained much attention for its unique style and story development. This particular Visual Novel has even obtained a recently published 12 episode Anime version that is currently running on Funimation.

I have played through all the current Volumes including NEKO-Para Vol. 0, as well as seen the Anime, and it has come to be one of my favorite Visual Novels to date. The character development is great and the overall dedication to the story and characters goes beyond that of what you might see in other Visual Novels. That said though that doesn't mean it's the only one of its kind.

Currently, it is not posted as to how much it will cost to get this Visual Novel yet, but based on previous installments it will most likely be in the range of $20 to $25 pushing possibly 30$.

If you think you may be interested in this Visual Novel series I recommend you check out my previous reviews of the series as well as visit the Steam Store Page to see more on it.

Currently they do not have a preorder available.

Update

 Update

Hey everyone, I want to take a moment and apologize for the lack of posting lately. Long story short I have been going through some rough life issues that I am slowly working out. I have also been greatly increasing the amount of time I am working and spending on other projects to keep my mind busy.

I have been working on a schedule for doing some video's though I am not sure when I will be able to pull those off as time alone is limited and with my child around it will be hard for me to do videos. Eventually, I will be getting an office sat up where I can hide away and do what I need to do without having to worry about being interrupted. Sadly that may still be a little way out so until then, blogging is about all I can do.

So on another note, I have scored a demo of Evenicle II, which I will be doing a review later. I have also been slowly playing through 'I walk with Zombies Vol. 2' and while I am not done I should be getting there soon. I have a couple of other games I am looking at doing some reviews on as well which I will post soon.

As some are aware I have a Patreon which I have one subscriber so thanks to them I feel like I can maybe reach others.

Even if you don't want to donate to the production of the blog or the videos when posted, sign up to stay up to date and to show your support to someone that is honestly just doing this because he finds it fun and enjoys it. It also helps me deal with my depression by giving me something to focus on and do.

I hope to see you all very soon and I hope to get some videos posted shortly.

Thanks!

Update# 2

Update# 2

I hope everyone is having a good week this week! So I am excited to bring you an update of what is going to be taking place very soon. As some of my readers and followers may know I have recently upgraded my computer work station to a new look and format which allows me greater creative freedom. This includes updating software, installing a new docking station, a new dual monitor set up among other upgrades. Because of this I and the reinstalling of my audio equipment from my Podcasting days I am now able to produce, edit, and post video with music and audio.

So what does all that mean? Well, I will be able to create for the first time in a while some nice content dealing with my reviews of games, anime, and Manga! Along with the hardware and software updates, I will be starting work on a new website that will link up with this blog allowing me more flexibility and allow me to create all the content I want. Along with this content and reviews, I am also working on a Visual Novel of my own and that I hope will be taking more shape sooner rather than later.

So to kick all of this off and to really start making some content I will be doing a video that deals with a game that I have been interested in for a while now but really never had the chance to play until now. That game is known as 'Corpse Party' and I will start off by playing the first game brought to the PC called simply 'Corpse Party' and pending on how that goes I may move to Corpse Party: Book of Shadows.

I will be posting a preview post soon talking about Corpse Part and what you can expect...or at least from what I have heard. I hope to see you all very soon.

Lolicon and the Great Misunderstanding

Lolicon and the Great Misunderstanding

Lolicon as defined by the community at large states that it is, " is a slang word for the phrase "Lolita complex"" which denotes the interests in a younger female by a man or the interests of a young female in another young female. It is derived from the term 'Lolita' which was a word used by an Author to denote a story written about a professor that took an interest in a younger female.

While in some cases this will refer to the interest taken into females in a prepubescent stage others will say it may simply refer to a female under the socially acceptable age for intimate relationships while every country tends to view this differently. Because of this common understanding of 'Lolicon,' there have been several nations that view it as a form of Child Pornography and have attempted to ban all forms of Lolicon from Anime, Mangas, and Light Novels in an attempt to further push back against the trend.

Currently, to date, there is no evidence that the viewing or reading of Lolicon materials has led to or caused anyone to develop an interest in real-life habits of pedophilia and therefore all information about the subject matter is currently being debated. The United Nations has even taken up the subject matter and while they have openly condemned the concept they have no legal standing to push nations to adopt their proposed ban on the materials.

Lolicon and those like it are caught in a constant battle between 'Moralist' and 'Artists' alike due to the generalized idea that if you view or support the idea of Lolicon you are someone to be viewed with some suspicion of being a pedo or someone that would support the act of it. While I can see this from the perspective of a 'Moralist' I can also say that subjectively there is no evidence to prove any of the arguments. As someone that supports the absolute freedom of self-expression and exchange of ideas I find it to be restrictive to say that the use of 'Lolicon' breeds or creates pedos.

Lolicon by an artist is the exploration of a social taboo on a different level and in many cases the story arch is directed in a way to nurture and foster a relationship between the main characters. In essence the main characters have a loving committing relationship and intend to be with one another only and therefore creating a love story that transcends the modern moralist view of love. Also the use of Lolicon as a medium in art and media isn't new and has only within the past decade been viewed with such disdain: while this is due to current 'moralist' or because society is starting to view censorship with a more positive note is not clear.

I think that even someone like myself that doesn't prescribe to the standard idealism of 'Moralism' agrees that the forced sexual activity of an adult or person in power upon a minor without consent or for other purposes in real life is not acceptable and should warrant arrest and incarceration. That said, the mentioned material of Lolicon which is art and or writings that pertain to the idea of a committed, loving, nurturing, sustainable, consensual relationship between two people of different ages should not fall under the same scope. The fact is that stories harm no one in real life and the fact that people make it sound like it does only makes things worse.

While this subject matter isn't one that can be settled easily, it is one that deserves a closer look. People that apply this concept to their art and writings are not inherently doing anything wrong but exploring a new route of thinking, even that said though it is really not all that new. The point I want to make is that despite one's personal moral convictions the idea that 'Lolicon' is seen as some sort of illegal practice only is short-sighted and narrow-minded. I actually hope to see this ban lifted at some point to see the freedom of creativity come back to the world.

Update 1.0.0

What is going on everyone? I know it has been some time since the last time I have posted a review and I do apologize for that, in light of the COVID issues going on I have been classified as 'Essential' at my job and as such, I have been working more hours than before which is hard to believe!

So in light of that, I have decided that I will be doing some video content as well as starting to finally get my stuff together to create a website for my content. I am debating on using YouTube as doing so will lead to me having to hide the majority of my content as it is dealing with adult content. So I maybe instead, looking at starting a Subscribstar account and using a new medium to host my videos. That said I am also looking at creating a new email account and username that I will use from now on instead of the current one I am using.

I have another project that I will be exploring too that I hope will be the start of a new deal for me. That said I may be looking to take on some help in the near future with artwork, music, and developers. If that is something you might be interested in please let me know!

I have recently downloaded more games (my wife will kill me for it later) so hopefully, I can get some more blog posts going. I will also be taking requests! I have also been catching up on some of the latest anime titles and will be working on blogs for them as well. I still have issues finding good adult content Manga. So if you come across some that you think will work well for a review please let me know!

Thanks for your continued patience and support!
